HUHNEY BEE TOOLS & TRADES YOUTH WELDING WORKSHOP

Join Huhney Bee Tools & Trades for a two part welding workshop (separate registration for each).

Beginner Welding Workshop (1 PM to 3PM)
Welding- Basic MIG
In this class students will learn the definition of GMAW, safety while welding, basic MIG principles, set up of a MIG welder, and experience hands-on basic MIG welding techniques. Students will weld mild steel.

Students are REQUIRED to complete this class prior to signing up for Metal Play, Intermediate Welding, or any other classes.

Metal Art Workshop (3:30PM to 5:30PM)

This is a workshop for those interested in making metal art! Students will have access to various metal working equipment to create anything they can think of! Equipment and tools include, but not limited to: MIG welder, plasma cutter, grinders, tin snips.

A variety of steel will be provided, but if you have a specific project in mind, it’s recommended to bring the material you need-steel only.
Instructor will be there to help with equipment and tools, but the creativity is up to the students!

Beginner Welding Workshop – 1 to 3 PM (7 MAX) – $50 COME AND MAKE IT! MEMBER OR $60 GUEST (required welding course to take additional classes)
Metal Art Workshop – 3:30 to 5:30 PM (7 MAX) –  $50 COME AND MAKE IT! MEMBER OR $60 GUEST (Beginner Welding is required)

Please make sure to wear close-toed sneakers or boots, jeans, and a cotton t-shirt. Do NOT wear flip-flops, open toed shoes, mesh sneakers, shorts, skirts, or highly flammable clothing. Long hair must be tied back.

Briana Huhn, founder of Huhney Bee Tools & Trades is a board member at both Come and Make It! and Girl with Grit. She has been a welder/fabricator for 11 years across multiple industries. In addition to welding, Briana shares her love of the trades with children through a Minnesota based nonprofit, Big Ideas Inc. Her main goal is to help end the stigma that the trades are second rate. Her metalworking skills earned her a spot on Motortrend’s ‘Bitchin Bootcamp’ and Discovery Channel’s ‘Monster Garage’.
